Lynn Steger is excited about writing her senior thesis. A political science major, she decided to also be an English major this year just so she could take English classes and write her thesis: Virginia Woolf and Death. Tufts University does not have a thesis requirement. Students are free to write one if they wish, but none are obliged to.

To write a thesis or not to write a thesis? - The Tufts Daily
I learned about Tufts at a college fair in Dominican Republic, where I grew up. Because my dad had gone to that college, we talked with him for a while after the fair, mostly my dad asking him about the new changes in the university. While talking, I asked him where he had gone and he told me about Tufts. This was the first time I had heard about it, I was in 11th grade. Soon enough, I researched more about Tufts and was completely blown away by it even before visiting in Spring When I visited, I remember I knew I could see myself walking in the quad and interacting with students.

Tufts Career Center Summer Internship Grants: The Career Center funds over 50 undergraduate students each summer doing unpaid internships for a minimum of hours. These funds offer students the opportunity to explore career fields and gain experience. Students must secure an internship prior to the deadlines. The deadline has passed; please stay tuned for Summer information. The program offers substantive internships that allow students to gain real-world skills, grow their networks, and explore career paths while building stronger communities on a local, national, or international level.
Taking classes that combine two seemingly unrelated fields is one of the coolest opportunities Tufts provides. In Professor Patel's music psychology classes, he focuses on music and emotions, the influence of music on human behavior, music education, and measurements of music ability. You can do research in the Music Cognition Lab, exploring whether minor thirds are linked with sadness because our speech tends to move in minor thirds when we're sad and whether the same parts of the brain responsible for interpreting the syntax of language also interpret the syntax of music.
