That loneliness while exercising is definitely not the case for Williamsburg area runners, as the change to Daylight Savings Time last month and the vaccinations of an increasing number of Virginians has opened the floodgates on group runs, now being held or shortly to resume almost every day of the week. The most popular group runs of them all, the Monday evening DOG Street Pub Runs, with as many as or more participants at one time, have not yet resumed after their five-year run ended in March after the pandemic was declared. Area runners hope they will resume later this year. For all the group runs, it has helped that they are held outside with minimal dangers of viral transmission on local roads and trails.
Ulster GAA officials considered whether to return to club activity in line with directives issued by the Northern Ireland Executive. GAA clubs south of the border have not been given a date for returning to any activity yet. It is hoped that further clarity will be given by the Irish Government within the next seven days.
The club in Bude, Cornwall, said the money will be used to cover the costs associated with restarting Covid-safe training for all ages within the club. Some of the things the money will help fund include an outside shower facility, better signage, markers and rash vests for safe coaching as well as five new CPR manikins and an additional conscious rescue manikin to enable the club to increase the number of qualified lifesavers in the water.
